Note: There are many claims out there that blue light blocking glasses can enhance and improve your focus, eye strain and improve your sleep, some experts disagree. Please be assured to read more at American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
Professionals and experts instead recommend being an arms length from the screen that emits blue light towards your eyes and causing strain. One quick way to improve your sleep is also to reduce the screen time before you fall asleep.
Blue light blocking glasses also called computer glasses or screen glasses still sparking an interest? We made a big test of blue light glasses where we interviewed a customer of ours and would love to share it with you. Or you can also buy look into buying them yourself.
Here is something that Charles Espinoza says about his experience with Blue Boomers Glasses.
I work overnights / graveyard shifts and my job involves being in front of a screen for long periods of time, and from the moment I started wearing them to now I can tell it’s made a huge difference on my eye sight. I don’t feel as tired after work, and I’m able to relax when I get home.
So... Blue light glasses doesn't have to look geeky
I tried the Blue Boomers Originals, which is a new brand that specializes in blue light protection. The glasses filters out the higher end of the blue light spectrum and that is what makes the lens look transparent or clear, when it still actually removes most of the harmful blue light.
I must say that the glasses really look chic and give me a smarter look while not making me look too geeky. Usually blue light glasses have yellow lenses making them look very strange, which makes me not want to wear them in public.

I chose the black variant of the Blue Boomers and let the experience begin to see if eye strain would be decreased and maybe I could sleep better.
I got more aware of my time on a screen
Usually I only wear glasses that don't block any light when I'm driving. However I found out that I HAD to wear my anti blue light glasses when I was looking at a screen and I surprised myself by how often I could pull out my laptop when I got off work. I could even mindlessly scroll through my phone without giving a damn.
The result was that I actually put the phone away and instead grab a cup of tea and actually do some actual reading in the evening (nights I would typically spend watching Netflix). This helped a ton and really made me sleep better and get omre relaxed.
As a result, I found myself getting more intentional about putting the phone away, and actually sat on the porch and read more in the evenings. Even though my eyes were still working by looking at the pages of a book, giving them a rest from one more screen (the one I would typically be watching Netflix on) helped a ton, and I slept better afterwards.
I found other ways to dial back on blue light.
Since the glasses caused a heightened awareness of blue light, to take it a step further, I tried to do other small changes in my life. I set my Iphone's night shift hours to 9pm-7am (The night shift function alters the screens colors to reduce blue light coming from the phone screen).
Since the glasses made me more aware of blue light, I tried remedying the issue further with small fixes. My iPhone is now set for "Night Shift" from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. The Night Shift function alters the colors of the phone's display to the warmer end of the color spectrum, so you're exposed to less blue light that way.
To do this yourself on an iPhone, you can go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Night Shift, and set the time you usually start getting ready for bed. (You can also download apps that do this on other phones.)
There are tons of other ways to reduce blue light. Some of them are
- Reducing blue light on phone with the night shift
- Reduce blue light on computer with night shift on Mac OS or download an app named F.lux or some other app, which reduces blue light from your screen.
- Spend less time on screens
- Take breaks more often (without looking at a screen!)
- Wear anti-blue light filtering glasses
The results
My eyes felt more relaxed after wearing the blue light glasses, especially at the end of the day. The eyes also looked less red and tired.
I also got a bunch of compliments on my new glasses, not only that they looked good, but also that I looked smarter with them.
Anyone who is exposed to digital eye-strain and spend a lot of time on screens, I would sincerely recommend this kind of glasses.
Thank you for this great product
I’m happy I ordered it. And it was super fast delivery, too. I wasn’t expecting them so quickly
